George Stevens Rolls Over Fort Fairfield To Claim Third-straight North Title [BOYS]
The two-time defending state champion George Stevens Academy Eagles once again will play for the gold ball after handily defeating Fort Fairfield Saturday night for the northern Maine crown.
George Stevens stared early, pressing the Tigers and converting the resulting turnovers into easy layups. The Eagles were dominant throughout on their way to a 62-39 win.
Senior Taylor Schildroth scored 29 points in the win. Senior Max Mattson 12 points.
Tigers standout Isaac Cyr found himself in early foul trouble, but finished with 14 points to lead the Tigers.
In a rematch of last year's northern Maine championship, in which Stevens beat Fort Fairfield 59-45.
What's next: George Stevens will play Hall-Dale in the state championship at 8:45 p.m. on Sat., March 3 in Augusta.
