High Expectations In Hawks Land
In his first season as head coach of Hermon High School football, Kyle Gallant led the Hawks to their best season in the school's seven year history of varsity football.
Hermon finished 6-2 in the regular season and lost in the Class C North playoffs.
Gallant welcomed 46 players to training camp this week with high expectations.
"This community loves football. It continues to get better and better", says Gallant. "This is one of those communities that, if done right, football will thrive."
Among the returning players is senior quarterback Garrett Trask. He threw for 663 yards and 12 TDs, plus Trask rushed for 897 yards and 14 TDs. He was also a key contributor to the state championship basketball team last winter.
The Hawks play their exhibition game at Hampden on Friday, August 24th. The season opener is at John Bapst on Friday, August 31st.
