It was was a busy first week of the fall sports season, and we were able to narrow it down to two finalists for the first McDonald's Athlete of the Week.

When all the votes were cast, Bangor running back Dane Johnson claimed the honor.

Johnson rushed for 152 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Rams' opening night win over Edward Little. Johnson rushed for two touchdowns, returned a kick-off 85 yards for a TD and returned an interception for a touchdown.

MDI's Jalique Keene was a very close second to Johnson in the voting. Keene scored all three touchdowns -- including an 85-yard kickoff return --  in the Trojans' win over Nokomis on opening day.
