Long time Bangor youth sports and school athletics volunteer, Kim Hillier, has been selected as a 2019 Sports Hero's Award winner.

This is the 7th year Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket and Hero's Sports Grill in Bangor have partnered to recognize people who have made a difference through volunteering in community sports.

Kim Hillier is the epitome of giving her time to help local sports.

A tireless volunteer for Bangor youth and school athletics for nearly two decades, Kim has given her time to Bangor East Little League starting in 2005. She served as concessions manager and a member of the board of directors, among other volunteer duties.

She also volunteered as Cohen School Booster Club president.

Since 2011, Kim has volunteered with the Bangor High School All Sports Boosters Club, organizing and directing efforts to fundraise money to supplement the athletics budget. She has been president of the Boosters for several years.

Other volunteering efforts by Kim include Project Graduation, Fill the Alfond Hockey Night and American Legion baseball.

Kim lives in Bangor with her husband, Todd. They have boys, Chris and Andrew.
