Husson Women Take First NAC Loss
After 13 consecutive North Atlantic Conference wins, the Husson Eagles women's basketball team suffered its first loss Saturday afternoon, losing at Johnson State in Vermont 80-70.
The defeat stopped an 11 game overall winning streak.
Coach Kissy Walker's Eagles led 36-30 at the half but the Badgers outscored Husson 50-34 in the second half.
Three Johnson State players scored over 20 points as Husson got out rebounded 59-40 and 38 points in the paint. Kasey DeGreenia had 26 points and a school record 23 rebounds.
The Eagles were led by Chandler Guerrette with 21 points and Kenzie Worcester with 16.
The first NAC loss puts the Eagles at 13-1 and 17-2 overall.
Johnson State is now 7-7 and 10-10.
The Husson men's team beat Johnson State 76-69 to sweep their two weekend games in Vermont.
Raheem Anderson continues to be a scoring machine, 23 points on Saturday.
Mitch Worcester added 18.
Coach Warren Caruso and his Eagles are now 12-2 NAC and 14-6 overall.
Johnson State falls to 4-9 and 7-13.
