The Hermon and Ellsworth Girls opened the 2023 soccer season on the brand new turf at Pottle's Field at Hermon High School on Thursday night, August 31st.

Prior to the game Barry Pottle, cut the ribbon, held by both the Hermon and Ellsworth captains.

Ellsworth's Elizabeth Boles made history, scoring the 1st goal on the new field. She gave Ellsworth a 1-0 lead with 10:40 elapsed in the 1st Half, assisted by Kelsie Lambert.

Hermon tied the score at 1-1 with 6:33 left in the 1st Half, when Izzy Byram scored.

The Hawks took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Natalie Tardie with 2:53 left in the 1st Half.

The 1st Half ended with the Hawks leading 2-1.

In the 2nd Half, Boles scored her 2nd goal of the game, to tie the score.

Hermon's Madison Stewart scored the winning goal.

Ellsworth-Hermon Girls' Soccer Game

The Ellsworth Girls traveled up to Hermon to start the 2023 season and played the first regular season game on the brand new turf at Pottle Field

Ellsworth is now 0-1 on the season. They play at Presque Isle on Saturday, September 2nd.

Hermon is 1-0. They play at John Bapst on Saturday, September 2nd

We will also be starting our 92.9 The Ticket High School Athlete of the Week beginning on September 1st. September 1-3 you can nominate someone for the Week 1 High School Athlete of the Week for performances August 28- September 2. We will then post the nominees on Tuesday, September 5th, and you'll be able to vote September 5th-7th. We will then announce the winner on Friday, September 8th. Nominees should be mailed to chris.popper@townsquaremedia.com with the student's name, school and why you think they should be Athlete of the Week.
