Legion Regular Season Winds Down

Heading into the final few games of the regular season, the Bangor Coffee News Comrades American Legion baseball team is closing in on the #1 seed.

The Comrades are 11-0 this summer and the Hampden Riverdogs are looking like the #2 seed with an 11-3 record.

Here's a look at the Zone 1 standings with the Zone Tourney set to begin a week from today...

1. Bangor Coffee New Comrades    11-0

2. Hampden Riverdogs                     11-3

4. Central Maine Post #16 & #51     2-10

5. Trenton Acadians                          1-10

NOTE 1: The #5 vs #4 play-in game is Friday, July 20th at 7pm. Then the four-team, double-elimination tourney begins Saturday, July 21st...Three teams from Zone 1 advance to the Legion State Championship Tournament. The Winkin Complex at Husson University will be the host site for both the zone and state tournaments.

NOTE 2: The final regular season matchup between Bangor and Motor City will be played at Hadlock Field in Portland next Tuesday at 5pm. Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket has live coverage of the game.
