NHL Says Bartkowski Hit On Gionta OK

The NHL says the high hit Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Bartkowski put on Buffalo's Brian Gionta was "incidental head contact on an otherwise full body check".

Bartkowski will not face any more discipline from the league.

He was given a game misconduct for the first period hit. The Bruins went on to win the game 4-3 in overtime.

The B's play Nashville Tuesday night before the NHL mandated league shutdown for Christmas.
