Parker Resigns, Rams Lose Q-Final
A tumultuous day for Bangor High School basketball. During the day Tuesday it was learned that boys varsity coach Carl Parker resigned after being arrested for OUI over the weekend. The team traveled to Windham Tuesday evening and lost 78-62 in the quarterfinal round of the Class AA North playoffs.
The Bangor Daily News first reported the Parker resignation story.
The incident happened Saturday on I-95 when Parker's car hit some black ice and ended up on its side. Police administered a blood-alcohol test and Parker did not pass the test. Parker was returning to Bangor from a coaches meeting in Lewiston.
JV coach Jon McAllian coached the playoff game Tuesday night. The Rams finish the season with a 9-10 record.
