Bangor High School boys and girls soccer teams scored wins over rival Hampden but it was anything but easy in both games.

The Bangor boys team beat the Broncos 2-1 but it was a stressful final three minutes.

After getting second half goals from Alec Jansujwicz and Garth Berenyi, the Rams fouled twice down the stretch and handed the Broncos two penalty shots. Alex Ross beat Bangor goalie Austin Conway with the first shot but hit the left post on the second kick and the Rams held on for the win.

The Rams outshot the Broncos 23-6.

Bangor, the defending Class A state champs are now 4-0. Hampden falls to 2-2.

In Hampden, the Bangor girls scored the only goal of the game in the final six minutes of the game to beat the Broncos 1-0.

The Rams improve to 1-1-1 while the Broncos fall to 2-2.
