Red Sox Alone In First Place

  The Boston Red Sox got homeruns from Dustin Pedroia and Mike Napoli in a 9-3 win over the Phillies at Fenway Park.The Sox racked up 15 hits against Phillies pitching, three from Jacoby Ellsbury who also drove in a run and scored a run.

Alfredo Aceves got the start on the mound and pitched six innings to get the win. He allowed just one run on seven hits and struck out four.

Boston's win combined with a Yankee loss has the them in first place in the AL East by a full game.

Ryan Dempster takes the mound for game 2 of the series Tuesday night.
