Two Arrested After Discovery of Meth Lab
Two people are facing charges after police discovered a meth lab in their home. The MDEA lab team is now working to clear the scene, dismantle the lab and gather evidence.
Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the lab was discovered at a ranch style home on Route 2 in New Sharon by MDEA and Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies. They went to the home at 545 Farmington Falls on a tip.
Daniel Villacci, age 38, and Tabatha Schoubroek, age 30, are both charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of a child. Two young children also live at the house and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services has been called to assist with the children's care. Villacci was out on bail on previous drug charges. The couple are each being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Also assisting in the cleanup at the house were the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the New Sharon Fire Department. This is the sixth meth lab discovered in Maine, so far this year. Last Friday, a meth lab was found inside an Ellsworth apartment, and earlier this month, a lab was dismantled inside a house in Bar Harbor.
