Boston Red Sox v Oakland AthleticsBrandon Workman pitched 6 no-hit innings in his Major Leagues starting debut but got a no-decision in the Sox 3-2 loss to the A's in 11 innings.Workman had his no-hitter broken up by Coco Crisp who beat out an infield single. His last pitch was a game tying 2-run homer off the bat off Josh Donaldson. Workman struck out 5 while only giving up those two hits. Oakland won the game in the 11th inning when Donaldson singled off newly aquired Matt Thornton driving in Chris Young.

The Sox are now off for the All-Star break and will not play again until Friday when they open a series at Fenway against the Yankees. Manager John Farrell anounced the pitching rotation will start with Felix Doubront followed by John Lackey and Jon Lester.
