Zone 1 Legion Baseball: Tight Finish To Playoffs

As American Legion baseball teams get ready to play regular season finales tonight, we know a couple of things about the upcoming playoffs. The five team Zone 1 Tourney field is set but the final order of those five teams is to-be-determined.

ZONE 1  STANDINGS

1.   Bangor            10 - 4

2.   Hampden        10 - 4

3.   Skowhegan       7 - 8

4.   Brewer              6 - 7

5.   Post 51             6 - 7

6.   Acadians          3 - 12 (Eliminated from playoffs)

* Bangor owns tiebreaker vs Hampden for #1 spot

* If both Brewer and Post 51 win tonight there will be a need to play Monday night's postponed game between the two teams on Wednesday. There would be the need to determine positions 3, 4 and 5.

* The Zone 1 Tournament begins Thursday at Winkin Complex at Husson University on Thursday at 7pm. Team #4 vs Team #5. Top three teams get a bye.

* Double elimination tourney on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
