What a week for Bangor's Mat Fleming and Greely's Anna DeWolfe. Mr. and Miss Maine Basketball Award winners on top of winning state championships for their schools.

For the West point bound Fleming, he averaged 21 PPG, 11 RPG and 4 APG as the Rams captured the Class AA state title. He joins Zac Ray as the two Bangor players to win Maine's top award for basketball.

For the Fordham University bound DeWolfe, she averaged 25 PPG, 6 APG and 6 SPG. Her Greely Rangers have won the Class A state championship two years running without a loss.

Among the other awards handed out Friday night at the awards banquet, the Contributor of the Year Award and Maine Basketball Hall of Fame coach Roger Reed is the 2019 choice.

The award goes to a person has helped improve the quality of basketball in Maine. Reed is currently an assistant coach at Hermon under his son, Mark.

Reed has over 500 wins as a head coach at Bangor Christian and at Bangor HS.
