Much of the B's damage was done by the young guns. Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen each had a goal and two assists. Defenseman Charlie McAvoy had a Gordie Howe hat trick (goal, assist and a fight).

The B's outshot the Blue Jackets 45-18.
