Bates Back In The NFL

Former UMaine and Westbrook HS linebacker Trevor Bates is back on a 53-man NFL roster. The Detroit Lions have called up Bates from their practice squad.

Detroit's depth chart lists Bates as their backup MLB behind Jarrad Davis. Bates will wear  #53.

The 2-3 Lions are coming off a bye week and play in Miami on Sunday..

Bates spent time on the Patriots and Giants practice squads in recent years. He signed a free agent deal with the Lions before the season and then got cut. He was resigned to their practice squad.
