The UMaine baseball team got shut down 3-0 by UAlbany in the first game of the America East Conference Tournament today. That means the Black Bears play in an elimination game this evening.

Maine had some chances to score but left eight runners on base. The Bears managed just six hits all day. Tyler Schwanz had two of those hits.

On the mound, righthander Jonah Normandeau takes the loss although he pitched well. 5.1 innings, allowing two runs (1 earned) on four hits.

The Great Danes scored their first run in the third inning on a double steal. The second run came in the 5th inning on an Alex Thul home run. And then Albany added insurance scoring a third run in 8th inning.

The loss puts Maine at 21-28 and now the Bears play either Stony Brook or Hartford this evening at 6pm.
