The Boston Red Sox made a step towards retooling their farm system during the start of international signing free agency.

The Sox snagged a few players in the signing class, including highly sought after catcher Daniel Flores.  Flores is considered to be one of the top players available and is a switch hitting catcher from Venezuela. He was ranked number two overall by MLBPipeline.com and Baseball America.

In addition to Flores, the Sox also signed shortstops Danny Diaz and Antoni Flores, both of which hail from Venezuela also.  The catcher signee Flores is expected to make $3.1 million with the club via his contract.
