Comrades In Title Game, 4pm On 92.9 The Ticket
After the Coffee News Bangor pitching staff posted 28.1 innings of shutout ball at the Maine State American Legion Tournament, the roof caved in on the staff Saturday afternoon. Coastal Landscape (Cheverus) beat up Bangor 18-4. The game ended after eight innings because of the 10-run rule.
That's the bad news for Comrades fans.
The good news is that Coastal will have to play South Portland at 1pm Sunday afternoon. Bangor awaits the winner of that game for a winner-take-all matchup at 4pm.
NOTE: Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket/929theticket.com has live coverage at 4pm.
Coastal Landscape and Coffee News were tied 3-3 until the 7th inning. That's when Coastal posted nine runs. They added another six runs in the 8th.
The mostly Cheverus HS team pounded out 19 hits against Comrades pitching.
Five errors by Bangor didn't help matters.
Kolby Lambert and Tim Greene had four hits each for Coastal.
Noah Missbrenner had two of the nine Bangor hits.
