Bangor's Justin Courtney picked up his 2nd New England Collegiate Baseball League win over the weekend as his Sanford Mainers beat the Vermont Mountaineers 3-2. He now ranks in the top 10 among pitchers who have started at least six games with his 3.85 ERA.

Courtney, who will be a senior at UMaine in the fall, is now 2-2 after five starts. He has worked 30.1 innings, striking out 17 and walking eight.

In Saturday's win over Vermont, Courtney worked six innings, allowing one earned run and four hits.

USM's Jake Dexter picked up the save in the Sanford win. He is now third in the NECBL in ERA at 1.52 in 15 relief appearances this summer for the Mainers. In 23.2 innings, Dexter has allowed just two runs while striking out 25 batters.

The NECBL is a wooden bat league for college players with 13 teams in New England. The Sanford Mainers are 9-17.
