George Stevens Academy ended its near-perfect season with a state championship Saturday night, pulling away from the Waynflete Flyers in the final game of the night at the Augusta Civic Center.

Led by sophomore point guard Taylor Schildroth's 25 points, the Eagles controlled the fourth quarter in an otherwise tight game on their way to a 59-46 win and a Class C state title.

The Eagles shut Waynflete down in the second half, contesting shots and rendering the Flyers' big men ineffective.

Beckett Slayton had 13 points fro the Eagles. Jarrod Chase added 10 points.

Milo Belleau led the Flyers with 13 points.
