Hayward On Injury, Rehab [VIDEO]

On his road to recovery Gordon Hayward covered a lot of ground this week. At his first press conference since the gruesome ankle injury on opening night, Hayward told reporters that he spent time shooting a basketball from a chair on the practice court.

He has shifted from a hard cast and a walking boot.

And Hayward said the outpouring of support from fans, players and even former presidents has been overwhelming.

Hayward still doesn't have a timetable on a return.

He wants to sit on the bench during games as soon as doctors will allow it. And, coach Brad Stevens will have him looking at game film to get his take on the team.

Meanwhile, the C's are now 6-2 without Hayward and play in Oklahoma City tonight.
