The Hermon Hawks girls continued their Cinderella run through the Class B tournament on Wednesday, knocking off the No. 3 Presque Isle Wildcats to advance to the Northern Maine finals.

The No. 7 Hawks previously ousted the No. 2 MDI Trojans in the quarterfinals on their way to the semifinal match-up with the Wildcats.

On Wednesday, Hermon turned that earlier upset into confidence outplaying Presque Isle on their way to a 59-45 win.

It was a balanced scoring attack from the Hawks. Junior Emi Higgins led the team with 20 points. Sophomore Lauren Plissey had 10 points and Alessa Oakes and Bryanne Crouse each had 8 points in the win.

Emily Wheaton had 15 points for the Wildcats.

The Hawks will play Houlton at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday for the Class B North championship at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor
