Husson University basketball teams started a weekend of play by posting wins over Castleton University and improve to 9-0 in North Atlantic Conference play.Kissy Walker's women's team put together an impressive second half to take out the number 2 team in the conference 72-52. Darla Morales came off the bench to score a career high 17 points that sparked the Eagles and allowed them to outscore the Spartans 48-22 over the final two quarters.

Walker went with a smaller lineup to begin the second half after trailing  by 6 at halftime. Morales drained three shots form behind the arch and allowed more space for freshman Kenzie Worcester to work. Worcester finished with a game high 21 points.

The Eagles are now 9-0 in the NAC and 11-3 overall, their best start to a season in 11 years.

The Husson men also improved to 9-0 in the NAC thanks to a 73-61 win over Castleton which was also their 17th straight home win.

After a slow start senior guard Trevon Butler was able to find his scoring touch and throw in a team high 17 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Freshman Justin Martin came off the bench to add 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Eagles who led by as many as 22 points were able to turn the Spartans over 19 times and turn them into 16 points.

Both teams return to the gym today for a match-up with Green Mountain College. The women tip-off at 1pm and the men follow at 3pm.
