Boston Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel is the American League Mariano Rivera Award winner as the top relief pitcher.

Kimbrel becomes the first pitcher to win the award in both leagues - he won it as an Atlanta Braves closer.

He had an amazing season for the Sox, 35 saves, 1.43 ERA, 126 strikeouts and hitters batted just .140 against him.

Kenley Jansen of the Dodgers won the Trevor Hoffman Award as National League top reliever.
