Look who's leaving TV and going into coaching - former Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo. He has announced on his Instagram account that he's returning to the Pats as linebackers coach. In essence, he replaces Brian Flores who became Miami head coach.

The 33-year-old Mayo has been doing a lot of TV work with NBC Boston. His fulltime job since retiring as a player in 2015 was in financial services.

Mayo was a first round draft pick out of Tennessee back in 2008. He made over 100 tackles in each of his first five seasons with the Patriots.

Coach Bill Belichick called him one of the smartest players he had ever coached when Mayo retired three years ago.
