Messo’s Dexter LEC Player of the Year

Former Messalonskee HS standout Jake Dexter has been named the Little East Conference Baseball Player of the Year. Dexter plays second base and is the closer for the University of Southern Maine Huskies.

The (27-13) Huskies play their opening round NCAA Division III Regional playoff game in New York today at 4:30pm vs Amherst.

The junior Dexter hit .387 with three HRs and 28 RBI as a hitter. He pitched in 20 games for USM getting four wins and 11 saves. His ERA was 1.67.

USM's Sam Troiano is the LEC Rookie of the Year.
