The Sox have won eight in a row and 17 out of their last 18. Put their franchise-best start to the season at 17-2.

Making his first start of the year, Drew Pomeranz gave up thee runs in the first inning but the A's never scored again all night.

The Moreland grand slam was the fifth of the season. A year ago, the Sox did not have a slam all season.
