NFL Battle Of Bears: Ricard Vs Demby

You ready for some football? The NFL gives you 12 preseason games tonight, including the Baltimore Ravens vs LA Rams matchup that features a couple of former UMaine Black Bears.

Pat Ricard will wear #42 for the Baltimore Ravens. He is listed on the team depth chart as their #1 fullback. Not bad for a guy who played defensive line for the Black Bears.

Ricard signed a free agent deal with the Ravens last year and simply earned his way onto the roster. He played some defensive line but caught two TDs last year as a fullback for Joe Flacco and company.

Jamil Demby will wear #64 as an offensive lineman for the LA Rams tonight. Back in April, the Rams selected Demby in the 6th round of the draft (#192 overall). He'll see his first NFL action tonight.

NOTE: Liam Coen was UMaine offensive cooradinator last year. He is now an assistant wide receivers coach for the Rams...Former UMaine linebacker Trevor Bates is with the Detroit Lions and they play their first preseason game tomorrow night.
