David Pastrnak dazzled the Boston Garden crowd last night, scoring three goals and assisting on two others, as the Bruins beat up the New York Rangers 6-3.

The B's are closing in on wrapping up home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs.

Pastrnak missed 16 games with a thumb injury but in his fifth game back he exploded on the ice. His hat trick was his third of the season. No Bruins player has done that since Cam Neely back in 1993-94.

Pastrnak now has 36 goals and 41 assists for 77 points.

Brad Marchand is closing in on the 100 point mark. He had three assists last night and 97 for the season.

Patrice Bergeron, Jake DeBrusk and Charlie McAvoy scored the other Bruins goals.

The B's are 47-21-9 and with five games left on the schedule they now lead Toronto by six points (3 games) in the standings for that second spot in their division.
