Peters, UNE Knock Off Eagles 31-21
University of New England quaterback Brian Peters threw for a touchdown and ran for two more as the Nor'easters spoiled Husson's homecoming with a 31-21 win Saturday afternoon.
The game marked the first ever home game for the Eagles vs an in-state program. And, for UNE it marked their first ever Commonwealth Coast Conference win.
Nor'easters junior QB Brian Peters came up with several big plays when his team needed it most. Trailing `4-10, Peters hit Cobey Johnson for a 66-yard TD pass play in thee third quarter and scored two TDs on quarterback keeps in the fourth quarter.
He finished with 233 yards passing (17-for-27). Peters also rushed for 56 yards.
The Eagles scored the only touchdown of the first quarter on a David Morrison to Keyshaun Robinson 12 yard TD pass. The same two guys connected on a one-yard pass play just before halftime.
Husson would score only one more touchdown, a four-yard pass from Morrison to TE Aidan Hogan.
Morrison finished 25-for-39, 226 yards and 3 TDs.
Shawn Noel Jr. rushed 32 times for `24 yards.
Tyler Halls caught nine passes for 79 yards.
UNE moves to 1-2 in CCC play (3-3 overall).
The Eagles drop to 2-1 in the CCC (2-4 overall).
NOTE: Including the ECFC days and this year's CCC play, it's the first conference home loss for Husson since 2013 and a loss to Mt. Ida.
