Sharapova Return To U.S. Open Is A Win [VIDEO]

Maria Sharapova shocked the tennis world last night, winnning her first round U.S. Open Tennis Championship match and knocking off the #2 seed Simona Halep in the process.

Sharapova was suspended 15 months ago for using an illegal drug. After the suspension ended and some injury issues, Sharapova needed a wildcard spot just to get into the U.S. Open.

At one time, she was the world's #1 ranked player. She entered last might's match as #146.

She beat Halep 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the second round.
