Slater Named All-Pro, Brady Snubbed
The Associated Press announced the National Football League's All-Pro awards on Friday afternoon and among the names were New England Patriots special team member Matthew Slater.
The selection for Slater was the first of his career and he represents the only New England player to be named to the All-Pro list. He was recently named the winner of the Bart Starr Award as well for his accomplishments on and off the field. Slater was selected as a special teamer
Tom Brady finished behind Matt Ryan in the voting for the position of quarterback. The All-Pro selections are the best player in that respective position overall in the NFL. Ryan finished 2016 with the league's best passer rating (117.1) and had 38 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Brady, Marcus Cannon, Devin McCourty, and Nate Ebner were all named to the second team however.
Rookies Ezekiel Elliot and Tyreek Hill were also honored with a selection and 14 teams had at least one All-Pro.
