How good is it going for the Boston Red Sox? How about a 2-1 win over the Phillies with the only two runs coming from a pinch-hit home run from Brock Holt and a solo home run from Sandy Leon.

Pick a night. Pick a star.

With the game tied 1-1 in the 8th inning, Holt pinch-hit for pitcher Rick Porcello. He ripped the first pitch he saw for home run. It was the first pinch-hit homer for the Sox this year.

Earlier in the game, light hitting catcher Leon got the Sox a lead with a solo shot.

On the mound, Porcello was brilliant. Seven innings of one run, two hit ball. He struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.

Heath Hembree pitched the 8th inning. Craig Kimbrel worked the 9th for his 36th save.

The two teams finish the brief two game series tonight. Live coverage on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket begins at 6:20pm.
