‘The Men Of 60′ Return To GBO
The two men who own the Bangor Municipal Golf Course record score (60) are in the field for this week's 51st Greater Bangor Open Tournament.
Vermont pro golfer Jesse Larson is the defending champion of the GBO. He shot a 9-under par 60 in the second round of last year's tourney. Larson won the GBO with a 15-under par 192 total score. He will try to become just the second golfer to win back-to-back GBOs.
Pennsylvania pro Mike Van Sickle fired his Bangor Muni record 60 on the first round of the 2014 Greater Bangor Open. He went on to finish runnerup and was part of the longest GBO ever, losing on the 4th playoff hole to David Chung.
A field of close to 100 pro players will tee it up Thursday when the three-day GBO begins. Several of the golfers will also participate in the Wednesday's Pro-Am event.
