Five unanswered goals by the UMaine hockey team is what it took to end their 8-game losing streak and beat New Hampshire 5-2.The non-conference match-up was played in Manchester and the Wildcats were able to jump out to a quick lead with a goal just five minutes into the first period. They would go up 2-0 before the Black Bears offense got rolling. Blaine Byron scored the first of three second period goals to take a lead into the final 20 minutes. Will Merchant and Ben Hutton got the final two goals of the night giving the Bears their 4th win of the season.

Sean Romeo has played well in goal for UMaine and finished the game with 26 saves for his second win.

The non-conference weekend series between the two teams continues tonight with a game at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
