UMaine Women’s Basketball Improves to 6-4 In Conference
The UMaine women's basketball team pulled away from Vermont in the second half Wednesday night and beat the Vermont Catamounts 70-59 at the Cross Insurance Center.
Black Bear freshman, and the reigning America East Rookie of the Week Anne Simon had a game high 22 points, she also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists as the Bears ran their record to 10-14 overall, 6-4 in America East which is good for third place in the league.
Junior forward Maeve Carroll had 19 points, and a game high 14 rebounds for her 6th double-double this year, she also handed out 4 assists.
Maine is home again at the Cross Insurance Center Sunday for a 1pm game against Binghamton. The Bearcats are 5-5 in the conference just one game behind Maine for 4th place in America East, and Binghamton is 16-6 overall.
Sunday is also the annual Play4Kay game for the Women's team.
