Aaron Judge blasted an early 2-run home run and Luis Severino held the Red Sox in check for seven innings as the NY Yankees won at Fenway Park last night 3-1. It was the first of 19 meeting between these two AL East rivals.

Judge celebrated his 25th birthday with the home run and a great catch, diving into the seats in rightfield.

Severino gave up only three Sox hits in his outing. In fact, the Sox didn't do any damage until fireballer Aroldis Chapman came in to pitch the 9th innning.

Meanwhile, Sox starter Rick Porcello deserved better. He struck out nine batters in 6.2 innings. But, he got no offensive help.

Game two of the series tonight features Chris Sale vs Mashiro Tanaka.
