AE: Bears Split With Bearcats
The UMaine baseball team and the Binghamton Bearcats split an America East doubleheader at Mhaaney Diamond in Orono Saturday afternoon and that makes Sunday's single game all the more important.
The (7-10 AE) Black Bears and (8-12 AE) Bearcats are fighting for the #6 and final playoff spot in the upcoming AE Tournament.
In game one, Trevor Delaite pitched the first 5.2 innings, giving up four earned runs and took the loss.
In game two, John Arel pitched a seven inning complete game for his 5th win. He gave up two runs.
The rubber game of the three game set is Sunday at 11am.
The UMaine softball finished regular season play losing to Stony Brook 6-2. That means the (9-7 AE, 20-23 overall) Black Bears will be the #4 seed in the upcoming America East Tournament starting Wednesday.
