AE: UM Women Lose In OT, Men Get Road Win

UMaine basketball teams have to settle for a split in Saturday America East Conference play. The men's team with a big road win. The women's team losing in overtime at home.

UMaine Men 76  Binghamton 73:  Ilker Er and Aaron Calixte combined to score all of the Bears 17 points in the final 5:23 to lead their team from a 61-61 tie to a three point win. Er scored seven points and Calixte had 10 in the final stretch. Er finished the game with 23, Calixte had 18.

The Black Bears get their first AE win, now 1-1. Overall UMaine goes to 4-13.

Binghamton falls to 0-1 and 9-7.

Binghamton 66  UMaine Women 62 (OT):  Blanca Millan and Julie Brosseau combined to score 43 of Maine's 62 points but neither could score in overtime as the Bearcats outscored Maine 7-3 to get the victory at the Cross Center. Imani Watkins led Binghamton with 23 points, including five of the seven points in overtime.

The Black Bears fall to 1-1 in America East and 8-7 overall.

The Bearcats are 1-0 and 10-4.
