The Bangor baseball team is Class A state champion again and this one moves the Rams into the history books with five consecutive titles - never before done.

Bangor's 10-6 win over Gorham was anything but easy Saturday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond at St. Joseph's College in Standish.

After the Rams scored five times in the 1st inning, Gorham came right back in its half of the 1st inning to score four times.

And then the Rams of Gorham scored solo runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to grab a 6-5 lead.

Bangor scrambled in the 4th and 5th innings to score runs and re-take the lead at 7-6.

Finally, the Rams of Bangor got breathing room by scoring three times in the 7th.

Junior RHP Zach Cowperthwaite got the win on the hill and sophomore Carson Prouty finished the game and got credit for the save.

Zach Ireland and Jacob Munroe led a 16-hit attack with three hits each. Tyler Parke, Zach Copwerthwaite and Nick Canaar all had two hits.

Gorham, coached by former Bangor Rams player Chuck Nadeau, finish the season 15-5. Bangor ends the year at 19-1.
