As the College World Series continues in Omaha, Nebraska, it is worth noting that the UMaine Black Bears played two of the teams in the CWS - Florida State and Mississippi State.

In fact, Florida St opened the season back in February with a four game sweep of the Black Bears in Tallahassee. The Seminoles went on to post a 41-21 record into the CWS. A 1-0 win vs Arkansas over the weekend puts Florida State in a winner's bracket game tonight vs Michigan.

UMaine played Mississippi State in the three game series in Starksville back in early March. The Black Bears lost three tight games, 5-2, 9-8 and 5-1.

Mississippi State scored a come-from-behind, walk-off win, 5-4, Sunday at the CWS over Auburn. State is now 52-13.
