Bears Scrimmage In The Heat

The UMaine Black Bears went through their first of three scrimmages leading up to the season opener vs UNH on August 30th and it was hot. Very hot.

In fact, the scrimmage time was moved from the afternoon to the morning to try to beat some of the heat and humidity.

The first STATS/FCS national poll is out and it shows the Bears will play four teams in the preseason national rankings...UNH, Elon, Villanova and Richmond.

Non-conference games include at Western Kentucky (#5 in C-USA poll, East Division) and Central Michigan (#3 pick in MAC poll, West Division).
