The UMaine women's basketball team had no problem getting past UMaryland Baltimore County Sunday afternoon, 69-36.

The Black Bears win their fourth straight game and improve to 6-2 in America East and 13-8 overall.

Maine scored 31 points off 24 UMBC turnovers and the Bears held the Retrievers to 30% shooting (12-for-44).

On offense, the Bears got 14 each from Julie Brosseau, Blanca Millan and Tanesha Sutton.

After a 16-5 lead after one quarter, the Black Bears led 36-16 at the half and then cruised home in the second half for the win.

UMBC falls to 1-7 and 2-19.

UMaine sits one game behind first place UAlbany in the AE standings.
