Biddeford native and current Pittsburgh Penguin Brian Dumoulin will be out 4-6 weeks after suffering a broken jaw in a game on Tuesday night.

Dumoulin had the injury occur in the third period of the Pens’ 5-2 victory against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.  According to the Penguins’ team website, Dumoulin had surgery and will now miss the allotted time before rejoining the team when healthy.

Pittsburgh is already down Kris Letang and Trevor Daley who are also dealing with injuries.  Dumoulin has played in 35 games this season with the Penguins and has added seven assists in defense.

The Penguins currently have the most points in the NHL with 53 and sport an overall record of 24-8-5.  Dumoulin helped the team win the Stanley Cup last season and brought the trophy to his hometown of Biddeford this past August.
