CAA Poll: UMaine Football Picked 8th
The preseason Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) poll predicts the UMaine football team to finish in 8th place in the 12 team league. The voters predict James Madison University and New Hampshire to be the top two teams.
The annual CAA Media Day is taking place in Baltimore today.
Three Black Bears have been picked as preseason All-Conference - DL Kayon Whitaker, KR Earnest Edwards and senior specialist Mozai Nelson.
Joe Harasymiak begins his third season as head coach of the Bears. His team finished 4-6 (3-5 CAA) last season.
UMaine returns 15 players who have been starters, including sophomore QB Chris Ferguson who threw for 16 TDs and over 2,000 yards as a freshman.
Preseason camp opens next week for the Black Bears. The season opening game is a home game vs UNH on Thursday, August 30th.
