Clark Scores 4, Winslow Beats MCI

They shot off fireworks before the homecoming game in Pittsfield Friday night. Turns out that was just the opening act of fireworks between Winslow and MCI.

The battle between the top two teams in Class C North ended with a Black Raiders win, 61-37.

The first quarter was quiet, a 7-0 Winslow lead.

In the second quarter, MCI's Isaac Buzzell, who moved from lineman to fullback, scored two touchdowns and  Ryan Friend hit Will Russell on a TD pass as the Huskies led at the halfway mark, 19-14.

But the second half belonged to Winslow. Running back Robert Clark scored four of the Black Raiders seven touchdowns in that half. He finished the night with four TDs on 276 yards.

QB Colby Pomeroy threw three TD passes, two of them to to Cody Ivey.

Combined, the teams gained over 900 yards of offense.

Buzzell finished with three rushing TDs and QB Ryan Friend fired two TD passes.

Winslow improves to 5-1. MCI drops to 4-2.
