The 2018 CBB showdown began with Saturday afternoon snow in Lewiston and the Colby College Mules beat the Bates Bobcats 21-6.

For coach Jack Cosgrove and his Colby team that's two straight wins.

The snow clearly made the running game most important and Colby's senior RB Jake Schwern ran best. 40 carries, 226 yards and three touchdowns. The Mules total yardage was 306.

All of the scoring took place in the first half as the two teams combined to gain just 213 total yards in the snow of the second half.

Colby improves to 2-5 (1-0 CBB). Bates drops to 0-7 (0-1 CBB).

The CBB continues next Saturday with Bates at Bowdoin. Colby hosts Bowdoin on November 10th.
