Former UMaine football coach Jack Cosgrove and his Colby College Mules are 2018 CBB champs. It's the first time Colby has beaten both Bowdoin and Bates in 13 years.

Cosgrove, in his first season as head coach, got the Mules to a 3-6 season after Saturday's 30-14 victory over the Polar Bears.

"I did not fully understand how important a win over Bowdoin is to our players and alumni until today," Cosgrove said. "That, and securing the CBB Championship after 13 years, made today a memorable one for the silver and royal. I've heard from a lot of alumni since we won and I look forward to responding to all of them and thanking them for their support." - Colby Athletics Press Release

Jake Schwern led the Mules, carrying the ball 34 times for 185 and three touchdowns.

Saturday's game was the 130th meeting between Colby and Bowdoin. That is the third longest rivalry in Division III.
